1. The work you can take on
Most moving software is built for residential household goods. If that is all you do, plenty of platforms will serve you. The question is what happens the first time you are offered a government contract, an ocean shipment or a military SCAC — whether that is a new line of business, or a reason to buy a second system.
A mover who wins military work on a platform with no DPS connection ends up running two systems: one for the government side, one for everything else. That means double entry, two sets of training, two support relationships and two places a shipment can go missing. 2. What happens when the crew has no signal

Supermove’s help center article on losing connection states plainly that the crew app has no offline mode, and that a crew in a remote area without data cannot proceed on the tablet. Their survey tool has a limited offline mode — but if the team exits it while offline, everything entered since is lost.
Their own suggested workarounds are worth reading before you sign: print the document PDFs in advance for jobs in weak-signal areas, check carrier coverage maps ahead of the job, or connect the tablet to local wifi or a hotspot.
“Show me exactly what the crew sees when the signal drops mid-inventory, and what we do about the paperwork.” Then ask what it costs you when a crew cannot close out a job on site: the second trip, the re-keyed inventory, the signature you never got. Any vendor should be able to answer that in plain terms.
3. AI for movers: what it actually does, and where your data goes
“AI” gets thrown around a lot in moving software. Most of it leaves you wondering what it does for your day. Two questions cut through it: does the AI do real work across the whole operation, and does your data stay yours while it happens?
