Supermove capabilities reflect supermove.com and help.supermove.com as of September 2026. Software changes; confirm current details with each vendor before deciding.

1. The work you can take on

Most moving software is built for residential household goods. If that is all you do, plenty of platforms will serve you. The question is what happens the first time you are offered a government contract, an ocean shipment or a military SCAC — whether that is a new line of business, or a reason to buy a second system.

EDC-MoveStar® Supermove Local, regional and intrastate ✓ ✓ Long distance and interstate ✓ ✓ COD ✓ ✓ Commercial and office ✓ ✓ International ocean and air ✓ ~ US military through DPS ✓ – GSA and Department of State ✓ – NTS and permanent storage ✓ – Embassy ✓ – Forwarding ✓ – Asset-based and agent shipments ✓ – Removals outside the United States ✓ ~ Green rows are where EDC-MoveStar® opens work the other platform does not document. September 2026.
What this looks like in practice

A mover who wins military work on a platform with no DPS connection ends up running two systems: one for the government side, one for everything else. That means double entry, two sets of training, two support relationships and two places a shipment can go missing. EDC® built EasyDPS® and EasyGOVLINK™ so that stays one system — and since 99% of DoW-authorized SCACs already run EasyDPS®, it is the path of least resistance for the whole supply chain around you.

2. What happens when the crew has no signal

This is the most concrete difference between the two platforms, and it comes from Supermove’s own documentation rather than anyone’s marketing.

EDC Mobile™ keeps working

EDC Mobile™ is a native app on Apple and Android. The crew completes the inventory, adds damages and photos, fills in industry forms and collects the customer’s signature with no connection at all. Everything syncs to the office automatically the moment there is a signal.

✓Basements, stairwells, rural pickups and overseas jobs all work the same
✓Several inventory specialists can work the same job at once, on separate devices, or across several days
✓No cap on mobile users, and training is free for all of them
✓Crews use the devices you already own — no proprietary tablet required
Supermove: the tablet stops

Supermove’s help center article on losing connection states plainly that the crew app has no offline mode, and that a crew in a remote area without data cannot proceed on the tablet. Their survey tool has a limited offline mode — but if the team exits it while offline, everything entered since is lost.

Their own suggested workarounds are worth reading before you sign: print the document PDFs in advance for jobs in weak-signal areas, check carrier coverage maps ahead of the job, or connect the tablet to local wifi or a hotspot.

Also worth knowing
Their help center states the platform is not available in the Apple Store; iOS users bookmark the web app to the home screen instead. One reviewer, an EVP at a moving company, listed that as a drawback.
Ask this on the demo

“Show me exactly what the crew sees when the signal drops mid-inventory, and what we do about the paperwork.” Then ask what it costs you when a crew cannot close out a job on site: the second trip, the re-keyed inventory, the signature you never got. Any vendor should be able to answer that in plain terms.

3. AI for movers: what it actually does, and where your data goes

“AI” gets thrown around a lot in moving software. Most of it leaves you wondering what it does for your day. Two questions cut through it: does the AI do real work across the whole operation, and does your data stay yours while it happens?

MERXED™: AI built for the way you move

MERXED™ is EDC®’s own AI, built in-house and built into EDC-MoveStar®. It works from your data on the work you are already doing — matching crews to jobs, answering calls, reading weight tickets and answering questions about your own operation. It does the heavy lifting; you stay in control.

Calls and customers
Answers inbound calls around the clock · Makes outbound follow-up calls · Transcribes and summarizes every conversation · Pulls action items out of long calls
Dispatch and the schedule
Weighs job type, crew, trucks, equipment, location, dates and past performance · Builds a complete schedule for the day, week or month · Flags conflicts before they hit · Surfaces jobs still short on labor · Builds long-haul loads to capacity and sequences stops
Containers and trucks
Reads the inventory and recommends which pieces go in which container · Weighs dimensions, weight and piece count against capacity · Works toward full utilization of every container, before the crew arrives
Documents and paperwork
Reads weight tickets and creates the pieces with weight, dimensions, seal number and density · Identifies move packets and splits them into the right PDFs · Creates and updates shipments straight from a document, image or email · Turns paper into digital records · Drafts emails, estimates and follow-ups · Translates across languages · Summarizes long notes
Your data, answered
Answers plain-English questions about your operation · Spots repeat issues and trends in your communications · Identifies crew standouts and training gaps · Answers industry questions from your own documents
The part most AI vendors will not put in writing

Most AI tools route your data through an outside provider to work. The moment you use them, your pricing, your customer records, your call recordings and your job history leave your control — and often become training data that benefits somebody else. Your competitors may be customers of that same provider.

MERXED™ is built in-house, which is why EDC® can say something most vendors cannot: your data is never handed to a third-party AI provider, and it never becomes anyone else’s training data. For movers handling government or military work, that is not a preference — it is the difference between compliant and not. EDC® is CMMC Level 1 certified with MET status and advancing toward Level 2.

Where Supermove is strong: their AI is pointed at the sales floor, and it is good there — voice agents on inbound calls, live prompting and scoring during a rep’s call, an auto dialer, and agents that complete defined tasks. If unanswered calls are your single biggest leak, that is a real answer.
What to ask them: which providers process your call audio and customer records, whether any of it trains a model, and what happens to that data if you leave. Then ask what their AI does for the other 90% of the operation — the tickets, the packets, the schedule, the containers.

4. Whether your partners are inside the system

Moving is not a solo business. A single shipment can pass through an origin agent, a driver, a destination agent, a warehouse, a claims adjuster and a van line — none of whom work for you, and most of whom run different software. Every one of those handoffs is a chance for the shipment to fall out of the system.

What a data exchange network actually does for you

Without one, partner updates arrive as emails and attachments, and somebody in your office re-types them. That is where the double entry lives, where the wrong weight ends up on the invoice, and where the delivery date the customer was promised stops matching the one the agent has.

GOgistiX® is included with EDC-MoveStar® and removes that step. Shipments, claims, invoices and CSS scores move between you and your partners in real time — whatever software they run internally. You set the rules for what flows automatically. Agents accept or refuse offers, post status updates and complete digital inventories that land straight in your record. You can pull a shipment in by its GOgistiX® ID, distribute moves out to agents by score, blackouts, location or tonnage, and list your own services in the marketplace so movers worldwide can find you.

It has been running since 2011, which matters: a network is only worth what is already connected to it.

Supermove: no equivalent network

Supermove documents no mover-to-mover data exchange. Their own FAQ answers the van line question directly: interstate move information stays in the van line’s software while Supermove handles everything else. For an agent, that is two systems and a weekly reconciliation.

5. Twenty-five years of moving industry knowledge, built in

Every feature in EDC-MoveStar® exists because a mover asked for it. The tariff handling, the liftvan tracking, the DoW forms, the agent distribution rules — none of that comes from a product roadmap written in a conference room. It comes from twenty-five years of sitting in the same association meetings as the people who use it, and shipping what they said they needed.

Where each platform leads

EDC-MoveStar®
Every move type, every size, anywhere

Local through international, residential through military, two trucks through a hundred — all in one system, so growing into new work never means buying new software.

Secure AI that does real work

MERXED™ builds your dispatch board, loads your containers, reads your weight tickets, answers your calls and answers questions about your own data — without handing any of it to an outside AI provider.

A crew app that never stops

Native on Apple and Android, works with no internet connection, several people on the same inventory, ISO 17451-1 supported, forms auto-filled and signed at the curb.

Your partners inside the system

GOgistiX® has connected movers, agents, forwarders and adjusters since 2011, whatever software they run. Nobody re-keys a shipment.

Support movers actually rate

Unlimited online, virtual, phone and email support, live chat with a real person from inside the software, and unlimited training for every role — recorded and kept for your team.

A modern system, built on 25 years of knowing the work

Customizable dashboards, global search, company wikis, grid views per user, frequent customer-driven releases — with tariffs, DoW forms and agent rules that only come from decades in this industry.

Supermove
Live sales-call coaching

Their copilot prompts reps during the call and scores it afterwards. If rep consistency is your problem, that is a direct answer.

Autonomous task agents

Their Autopilot release, from August 2026, has agents complete defined tasks and escalate the exceptions.

Focused on one lane

A narrower product for residential household goods means fewer options to configure — which suits a simple local operation with no plans to diversify.

Worth knowing

Fast setup, modern design and responsive support are real strengths for Supermove — and they are not points of difference. EDC-MoveStar® matches them, with a system that also handles the work Supermove does not document.

Which one fits you

Choose EDC-MoveStar® if
→You run local moves, long distance, commercial or all of it — and want one system that handles whatever comes in the door
→You are two trucks or two hundred; the system fits either, and you never outgrow it
→You want AI that does the work, not just talk about it — building the dispatch board, loading containers, reading tickets, answering calls
→You want to be certain your customer data, pricing and call recordings never leave for an outside AI provider
→Your crews work in basements, stairwells and dead zones, and losing a job on the tablet is not acceptable
→You do government, military or international work today — or you want the option without buying a second system
→You are an agent or van line affiliate and want the shipment and the operation in one place
→You are moving anywhere in the world, across time zones, currencies and units
→You want a software partner who has been in this industry for 25 years and intends to be here for the next 25
Choose Supermove if
→You are residential and COD only, with no government, military or international ambition
→Unanswered inbound calls are demonstrably your largest source of lost revenue
→Your crews always work in good coverage, and a tablet stopping mid-job is an inconvenience rather than a crisis
→You do not exchange shipment data with agents, forwarders or van lines
→You are comfortable with your customer data being processed by outside AI providers

Switching is easier than staying stuck

The reason most movers put up with software that does not fit is the dread of changing it. EDC® does the heavy lifting: your data comes with you, the configuration is built around how you already work, and your team learns it with unlimited training.

We learn your operation

A dedicated implementation team maps your move types, rating, branches and workflows, and builds the plan around them.

We bring your data over

Customers, shipment history, partners and open jobs come with you. Nothing gets left behind in the old system.

We set it up your way

Rates, tariffs, forms, templates and permissions configured to match how you already work — not the other way round.

We stay after go-live

Unlimited training for every role, live chat with a real person inside the system, and a partnership that keeps adapting as you grow.

Whenever you are reading this, it is the right time to start the conversation. Bring your current setup and your hardest job type, and we will show you exactly how it runs in EDC-MoveStar® before you commit to anything.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best moving company software in 2026?

It depends on the work you take on. For a moving company that handles anything beyond straightforward residential jobs — government, military, international, agent or van line work — EDC-MoveStar® covers every move type in one system, with secure AI built in, a crew app that works with no internet connection and a data exchange network connecting you to partners worldwide. For a local-only residential operation whose main problem is unanswered phone calls, a narrower platform like Supermove may be enough.

Is EDC-MoveStar® a good Supermove alternative?

For most moving companies, yes — and for some it is the only workable option. EDC-MoveStar® covers every move type Supermove covers, and adds US military moves through DPS, GSA and Department of State work, NTS and permanent storage, international ocean and air, and real-time data exchange with agents and van lines. Its crew app also works with no internet connection, which Supermove’s does not. And its AI is built in-house, so your data never goes to an outside AI provider.

Is AI in moving software safe to use with customer data?

Most of it is not, and that is the question too few movers ask. Nearly every AI feature in moving software routes your data through an outside provider to work — so your pricing, customer records, call recordings and job history leave your control, and can become training data that benefits someone else. MERXED™ is the exception: EDC® built it in-house, which means your data is never handed to a third-party AI provider and never becomes anyone else’s training data. For movers doing government or military work, that is the difference between compliant and not. EDC® is CMMC Level 1 certified with MET status and advancing toward Level 2. Before you sign with any vendor, ask them to name every third party that processes your data, and get the answer in writing.

Does Supermove’s crew app work offline?

No. Supermove’s own help center states the crew app has no offline mode, and that a crew in a remote area without data cannot proceed on the tablet. Their survey tool has a limited offline mode, but data entered offline is lost if the team exits the tool. EDC Mobile™ is a native app that keeps working with no connection and syncs automatically once signal returns.

Which moving software handles military and government moves?

Supermove lists military movers among the businesses it serves, but publishes no connection to the Defense Personal Property System. EDC®’s EasyDPS® is the only commercial application that connects directly to DPS, and is used by 99% of DoW-authorized SCACs. EasyGOVLINK™ extends the same system to GSA, Department of State, NTS, PPM and UAB work, and EDC-MoveStar® imports GSA and NTS moves straight from bills of lading and DD forms.

How much does moving company software cost?

Most vendors in this category, including both platforms here, quote after a conversation rather than publishing a price. EDC-MoveStar® offers plans built for different kinds of moving business, from a local operation to a company running every move type across multiple countries, so the system fits what you actually do. Contact EDC® for a personalized quote. Whichever platform you look at, ask for the full picture over three years with every option named, and ask what it costs to add capacity mid-contract.

Which moving CRM is best for a van line agent?

EDC-MoveStar®, because the agent work stays in one system. Supermove’s own FAQ states that for van line agents, interstate move information remains in the van line’s software while Supermove handles everything else. GOgistiX® and EDC-AgentLink® were built for exactly this traffic: offers, acceptances, status updates, digital inventories and claims moving between you and your partners in real time, whatever software they run.

Can I switch from Supermove to EDC-MoveStar®?

Yes, and EDC® does the heavy lifting. A dedicated implementation team builds the plan, configures the system around how you already work, brings your customers, shipment history and partners across, and stays with you after go-live. Training is unlimited for every team member, live and on demand.

Do I need to be tech-savvy to use EDC-MoveStar®?

No. The system and the training are built for every role and comfort level, from the owner to the newest packer. Support is available by phone, email or live chat from inside the software, and training is unlimited.

Sources and method

Every statement about Supermove comes from their own published materials, checked September 2026: supermove.com and its product, solutions and blog pages, including the van line agent FAQ and the Autopilot announcement of 19 August 2026; and help.supermove.com, including the articles on tablets losing connection, crew app troubleshooting, adding Supermove apps to a device, the billing engine and tariffs. Where a capability is marked “not documented,” that reflects the absence of published information, not a claim that it does not exist. Software changes quickly — verify with both vendors before deciding, and ask for the answers in writing.
